Our Impact: LWC creates leaders that work for good in our community and positively influence others beyond their roles as employees.

Programs and Services

  • Leadership Washington County (LWC) is a leadership development organization with programs that leverage classroom learning, experiential learning and exposure to government, academic, nonprofit and corporate institutions. The program also offers connections to leadership experts that build business leaders, community leaders and professional networks. LWC was founded in 1998 by a group of individuals with a vision to develop the next generation of mangers and nonprofit board leaders.
  • LWC has grown into an essential partner in the revitalization of our community. Our 300+ alumni are actively engaged in community and government affairs, volunteer for nonprofits, and lead within companies small to large across the county and beyond.
  • Leadership Development Program Is a nine-month program targeted to emerging leaders, new managers or employees with manager-like influence and responsibilities. The program focuses on transformational leadership, which creates valuable and positive change in individuals, both personally and professionally. The three key components of program are: Leading Self, Leading Business and Leading the Community.
  • Board Leadership Bootcamp: An intensive one-day program focused on supporting nonprofit boards to become "Good To Great" - Based on the monograph "GOOD TO GREAT AND THE SOCIAL SECTORS, by author Jim Collins. The one-day session can be provided to individual boards or to larger groups. This program focuses on board composition, finances, technology, strategic planning, fundraising, board responsibility and succession planning.
