The Monongahela Area Library's story always begins and ends with patrons.
From running Story Times for children to artistic workshops and crafts for adults to a Young Adult book club for teens to computer assistance for anyone in need - we serve patrons of Monongahela, New Eagle, Carroll Township, Union Township, Nottingham Township, Finleyville, and the Ringgold School District.
Our employees and the services and programs they provide make a real difference. You can see it in the moments between our every day grind of managing materials, printing, copying, and faxing documents, and providing a safe and welcoming space for work and play. You see it when Becky reads a story to a group of children who later tell her what they will eat for lunch, bond with her about the animals she follows on her phone app, and ask her about the hermit crabs who live at the library. You see it when Colleen helps a man with his taxes because his cataracts are bad. You see it when the teens seek out Aura whenever they come to the library. You see it when Sandy picks a book that's just right for our neighbor. You see it when Carissa helps a regular patron at the computer figure out how to complete a task.
Day in and day out, the Monongahela Area Library's story is all about serving our patrons.
Currently, to maintain our current level of service, we must reach a fundraising goal of $50,000 for the year.
